COVID-19 Response

Our Response To COVID-19

Since the onset of Covid 19 in early 2020, Englewood Helping Hand, Inc. has first and foremost been concerned with the safety or our volunteers, staff and the many community neighbors we serve.  In doing so, we have frequently relied on the guidance received from local, state and federal agencies, as well as from the All Faiths Food Bank with whom we are a partner.  In March of 2020, we implemented a drive through policy in connection with food distribution.  The use of masks, gloves and frequent sanitization helped us to minimize the spread of this potentially deadly disease.  Over the last several years, through vaccination and new treatment options that helped alleviate the deadliness and spread of Covid, we have been able to relax our preventative measures.  With the opening of our new building and permanent pantry home in the summer of 2022, we have been able to reinstitute a walk-in distribution system allowing the community neighbors we assist to enter the pantry and have a say in the food and items that they will receive.  We will continue to monitor developments and take future action as appropriate.
